As well as numerous articles in the academic, trade and popular press, Richard has written five books:
  • Expert Systems in Law (Oxford University Press, 1987; paperback, 1989).
  • Latent Damage Law - The Expert System (Butterworths, 1988) (with PN Capper).
  • Essays on Law and Artificial Intelligence (Tano, 1993).
  • The Future of Law (Oxford University Press, 1996; revised paperback, 1998).
  • Transforming the Law (Oxford University Press, 2000; paperback, 2003).

Richard’s latest book is The Susskind Interviews: Legal Experts in Changing Times (Sweet & Maxwell, 2005), a revised set of transcripts of public interviews that he conducted with 18 distinguished legal experts, while he was Gresham Professor of Law
Richard has also edited two collections of papers:
  • Focus on IT in the City (Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, 1995) (with John Carrington, Tricia Drakes, Brian Jenkins, and Mike Warburg).
  • Essays in Honour of Sir Brian Neill (Butterworths, 2003) (with Mark Saville).

Since 1992, Richard has been joint General Editor (with Christopher Millard) of the International Journal of Law and Information Technology (Oxford University Press - www3.oup.co.uk/inttec)
